MORDEN HALL
PARK EXHIBITION

Every Thursday afternoon from 26th May 2022

We've joined forces with the National Trust to transform a disused space in Morden Hall Park (the big park near Morden station) into a youth-created, run and maintained exhibition space.

To do this, we've created a 12-week programme of free multimedia and creative arts workshops for young Merton residents between 15-25 years old. During this time, we will take you on a journey from novice to confident (and certificated) Community Archivists and Citizen Journalists. Through exploring local history and learning all of the skills needed to create content - including filmmaking, photography, podcasting and fine art. We'll also be taking lots of excursions to gather inspiration - places like the Tate Modern and Black Cultural Archives.

What we understand about ourselves is influenced by what has been written, recorded and archived. This gives great power to the individuals who assemble these records and what they deem worthy of protection. Through this project, we are putting you in charge of this process. We can't wait to see how you flip the script!

The programme is completely free and no prior experience is needed. Applications are now closed, to find out about future opportunities please email us at learn@filmanthropy.co.uk with the subject 'Archivist Academy.'
